3rd Annual
Blue Point Chowder Challenge

“Do you make great chowder? Is your specialty fish, seafood, corn, or something else?”

The Blue Point Congregational Church challenges YOU!

When: Saturday, May 22, 2010 from 4:30 – 6:30 pm

Where: Blue Point Congregational Church

Who: This challenge is being extended to the Blue Point Community; local churches, fishermen, firemen, our town leaders and local state legislators – anyone who wants to bring their specialty to The Challenge.

Our challenge will test your special chowder recipe against the best in the area. Each chowder will be judged by a panel of local chefs and restaurant owners – a trophy and bragging rights for 2010 will go to the winner. A special people choice award will also be presented – chosen by the general public, so be sure to invite your family and friends!

25% of the proceeds at the door will go to Project Grace.

FUND-RAISING SEASON HAS BEGUN!

FUND-RAISING season has begun,
lots of laughing lots of fun,
please mark your calendar and come out to help
lots of date for you to choose,
come on now, you’ve nothing to lose!
(okay I can’t rhyme – but you get my point)

Here’s a list of our first few events for this year -

Baked Bean Supper, March 27, 2010, 4:30 – 6 pm
Baked Bean Supper, April 24, 2010, 4:30 – 6 pm
Chowder Challenge, May 22, 2010, 4:30 – 6:30 pm

Here are some of the ways you can help!
1 – Bake Beans (for 3/27 and 4/24)
2 – Make a church chowder – or enter one of your own (for May 22)
3 – Bake pies or some other yummy dessert
4 – Help set up
5 – Workers to serve (for bean suppers)
6 – Help with clean up
7 – Invite your friends and neighbors to our DELICIOUS EVENTS!
We appreciate any and all help!

Our fundraisers not only help the church, but a portion of the proceeds from each are given to a local charitable organization. We have choosen Southern Maine Meals on Wheels to benefit from our March 27 Bean Supper. Please help us help this worthy cause!

Annual Meeting

To the Members of the Blue Point Congregational Church, UCC:

Notice is hereby given of the annual meeting of the Blue Point Congregational Church (UCC) to be held downstairs on Sunday, January 24, 2010 immediately following church. A potluck lunch will be held afterwards. Childcare will be provided. The agenda will include annual reports of the officers and committees, presentation and voting on the year 2010 budget, election of officers, and any other business proper to come before said meeting.

Also at said meeting the request of monies from the Memorial Fund to be use to purchase of the Bible study short films called Nooma. They are $10 each and the Deacons recommend the purchase of 10 films for the total of $100 + shipping.

This notice is posted in the Narthex of the church in accordance with the by-laws of this church.
